Less is usually more, in my estimation. The economy of words. Think poetry. Drop the adverbs. Some might not call this technically “description” — but it it. And to me…this is one of the best descriptions of a person in literature, ever:

“She wasn’t doing a thing that I could see, except standing there leaning on the balcony railing, holding the universe together.”
