Great advice. I’m a published author; have a blog. And I always have to rebalance my thinking to remember I’m not writing for me @ www.thewritershed.com. Sometimes I fail, sometimes not. Still, as a writer of fiction and memoir/creative nonfiction, I still find it difficult to connect with a potential audience through a blog. I think if you are writing genre fiction, or self-help, the blog works very well. Not sure it does for what I tend to write — contemplative literature. That question has yet to be answered for me. But I will keep trying and keep writing.
